Master Painters Australia (MPA) is the federal body that represents all state associations. MPA has existed as a not-for-profit industry association for over a century, initially being created to represent members of the surface coating industry.
The Association aims to provide protection to both consumers and painters, by creating clear codes of practice, that are based on industry best practice and ensure quality workmanship and service delivery.
A member of each state body represents state interests within the MPA, giving the entire association a truly national influence.
MPA, and the state bodies have always acted as independent representatives for contractors, companies, and consumers, by acting as a conduit between the industry and national and state governments.
The federal body has two chief aims:
- To allow members and their businesses to thrive
- To improve the industry, by helping to create and maintain standards and codes of practice
The singular authority of the MPA gives it significant bargaining power, in its ability to negotiate for the good of state branches, members, and the wider industry. It also uses its authority to coordinate educational and informational services.
The MPA and state branches all provide members with the key benefit of increasing the profit of completed work, which creates a better painting industry for all involved.
